Privacy Policy
BigEZ Depot ("we," "us") runs this website to show our inventory, let you save favorites, create an optional account, and request layaway on select items. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it. The short of it: we collect only what we need to serve you, we never sell your information, and we don't run ad trackers.
Stored on your device
To make the site work, we use your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) for:
- Wishlist — items you save, kept in your browser so you can return to them. We don't see this unless you send it to us in a message.
- Language preference — English or Spanish, remembered for next time.
Clear these any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Account information
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we collect:
- Name, email, and phone number you provide at sign-up, and a password. Sign-in and passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication — your password is stored by Firebase in hashed form and we never see it.
- You can view and update your name and phone, or sign out, on your account page at any time.
Layaway requests
If you start a layaway on an eligible item, we collect the item(s) you're interested in, any note you add, and your phone number so we can confirm pricing and your plan and contact you about it. By submitting a request you agree we may contact you (by call, text, or email) about that layaway. We use this information only to set up and manage your layaway.
Payment reminders (text & email)
When you request a layaway you can opt in to payment reminders by text and/or email. These are optional and consent is not required to start a layaway. If you opt in to texts, message and data rates may apply and you can stop them any time by replying STOP; for email reminders you can opt out by replying to any message or telling us. We use your contact info only for the reminders and updates about your layaway — not for marketing blasts and never shared for others' marketing.
Messages & financing you send us
If you text, WhatsApp, email, or call us, or apply for financing through a partner, you share whatever you choose to include, and we use it only to respond and help with your purchase. Financing applications are handled by our independent financing partners under their own privacy policies — review theirs before applying.
Where your information is stored
We rely on a few service providers to run the site and store account/layaway data:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Firestore, and Storage) — stores our product listings and photos, and your account profile and layaway records. Data is held on Google Cloud infrastructure under Google's security and privacy terms.
- Netlify — hosts and serves the website; may receive your device's IP address as a normal part of delivering pages.
- Google Maps — powers the embedded map on our Visit page.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don't build advertising profiles.
How long we keep it & deleting your data
We keep your account and layaway information while your account is active and as needed to complete a layaway and keep our records. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information at any time — contact us using the details below and we'll remove it (we may keep limited sale records as required for our books).
What we don't do
- We do not use Google Analytics, the Meta/Facebook pixel, or any other analytics or ad-tracking tools.
- We do not use advertising cookies or build a profile of you.
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.
Children's privacy
This site is intended for adults. Accounts and layaway involve a payment commitment, so they are for customers 18 or older. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
